Las Vegas

A May 2005 trip to Las Vegas by lwhitney

Quote: Las Vegas was great! We stayed at the Summer Bay Resorts. They were clean and close to the Strip but not very glam! They had just the basics, but it was okay since we spent very little time actually in the units. There were many pools, but they were also very basic.

Overview

Go to see O! It was amazing! Also we saw Second City, the Improv show at the Flamingo! Very funny! Another must is to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower. We went at sunset, and it was beautiful looking out over the mountains, but I've heard it's best to take pictures up there after dark.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking is the best way to get around, even though it's hot! The traffic is insane! There is also a monorail, and I heard the public buses are cheap and stop every few hundred yards on the Strip. Our location was really central, so we could walk.

Best Things Nearby:The Strip was so close! You could walk through the parking lot to the Monorail stop at Harrahs and then through the casino onto the Strip.Best Things About the Resort:Its proximity to everythingResort Experience:The resort was okay. The food was amazing! The outdoor patio is supposed to be great for people-watching, as it is right on the Strip, but it was too hot the day we went. The steak frites are delicious, and the warm flourless chocolate cake is to die for!

Look for Frank from Brooklyn! He is entertaining and helpful! Also, the casino is clean and there are lots of tables, mostly between $10 to $15. Roulette also made us winners!
