Weekend in Vegas

A June 2004 trip to Las Vegas by erinsmom1996

Quote: My husband and I spent a weekend in Las Vegas. We stayed at the Imperial Palace, a place we have stayed before.

Weekend in Vegas

Overview

Quote:
We had a good time at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. They have great drinks and good food. The atmosphere is great too. The casino at the Imperial Palace is fun and usually packed with a variety of people on the weekends.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Imperial Palace Las Vegas

Hotel | "Imperial Palace"

Quote:
Our room was small, with two full-size beds, a small table and chair, and a patio overlooking the parking garage. The room was clean and well-supplied. The maid service was good, we always had clean towels and more toiletries. The downside is the wait for an elevator from the casino level. There always seems to be a long line. The casino itself is a fun place to gamble. The celebrity-impersonator dealers on weekend nights were entertaining. There are several small bars throughout to meet up for drinks.

Imperial Buffet

Restaurant

Quote:
The breakfast buffet is a good deal and has a wide selection of foods. The dinner buffet, however, was not as impressive. The food selection was good, but the overall quality was not that great. A lot of the food tasted like it had been sitting there awhile.

We drove out to Red Rock Park one afternoon and spent the day there. It is beautiful, definitely a must-see. Bring your hiking shoes, though, because there are a lot of opportunities for hiking, climbing, and walking on the rocks. Bring lots of water, because it gets very warm! There are a ton of great photo opportunites and great overlooks to stop at as you drive through the park. It is well worth the trip.
