Maid of the Mist

By wandering on the observatory deck, you can never experience the force and magnitude of the falls. Hop on Maid of the Mist, which takes you closest to the falls--you can never imagine. Before boarding, each of us was given a hooded raincoat. Like most of the tourists, I was eager to wear it instantly and took a few pictures of the boat and the signboard "Welcome to Maid of the Mist". After everyone was securely on board, the engines began to roar. The boat was about to feature the two notable falls: American Falls and Canadian Falls, or the Horseshoe Falls. At first, everyone's attention was on American Falls (being the first to appear). I admitted this cascade was awesome and colos...Read More

Walk up to this popular tourist district instead of driving, as you might end up having difficulties finding a parking space. Also, Clifton Hill was so near to Niagara Falls that you would not find it a chore to walk up there. There are so many attractions in Clifton Hill that visiting all of them is impossible. So do it selectively. Most of them are located in "4943 Clifton Hill". Well, let me enumerate a few: 1) The Haunted House (dare to walk in alone) 2) Guinness World of Records Museum (Watch out for the world's most noteworthy abnormalities and astonishments) 3) Dinosaur Miniature Golf (Experience the golf game with T-rex) 4) Zom...Read More

Driving up to Niagara Parkway North was the best to get away from the bustling Clifton Hill or deafening sound of the falls. Along this road, you would encounter three main bridges connecting Canada and the U.S. Rainbow Bridge was the first and most visible from Niagara Falls. Next was Whirlpool Bridge, followed by Lewiston/Queenston Bridge. Also, the Niagara River flows parallel to this road. Floral Clock was one of the attractions. It was located along Niagara Parkway North and about 5-10 minutes drive from heart of Niagara. The numbers on the clock were labelled by these alphabets, "N-I-A-G-A-R-A P-A-R-K-S" and exactly added up to twelve letters, with "N" replacing "9" on a usual clock and ...Read More

The minute we left Toronto, I set my thoughts on the falls. Picturing the colossal cascades, the voluminous water, and the smell of fresh air, I knew they must be great. The route we took bypassed Oakville, Burlington, and then Gardiner Expressway. I read my watch. A half-hour more to go. Next, the road sign pointed "Exit 38E Niagara-on-the-lake". I sat straight, getting more alert, and scoured the horizon for the next signboard for "Niagara Park". My husband did the drive while I added some help by pointing at the correct direction: right, left, or straight. So if we were to end up in the wrong road, it would be the 'commander's' fault. You know, the man makes the mistake--it's usually me. But...Read More
