Weekend in Annapolis

A May 2004 trip to Annapolis by pinkpassport

Things to do, see, and eat in Annapolis, Maryland

  • 2 reviews
Annapolis is one of the most beautiful and historic East Coast cities. Located just 45 minutes east of Baltimore, it's easier and cheaper to fly into BWI.

I was married there, and it will always hold a special charm. You almost expect to see a tall ship carrying goods from Europe to pull into the docks downtown. A highlight of the city, the US Naval Academy, has a history all its own.

Quick Tips:

The city of Annapolis' webpage is full of good information and upcoming events. Make sure to have some Maryland crab while you're there!

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking is the best way to see the city. Choose a hotel near downtown and you have easy access to everything! There are also buses and a trolley that travels down West Street towards the mall.

Restaurant

This place is way better than Buddy's or Cantler's. Mike's is off of Riva Road, just outside the city on the river. The outdoor deck is a beautiful place to eat and watch the sun set. They have a huge menu and can accommodate large parties. Have some of their delicious she-crab soup! They also have a bar if you just want to grab a drink when you pull your boat up to their dock.
