Overview

We flew from Buffalo to San Francisco and rented a car at the airport. We drove to Napa Valley, which took approximately 2 hours from San Fran. We spent a day at the Culinary Institute learning to cook and tasting wine.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

By car, but returning your car to the San Francisco airport is tricky. You really need to watch for the signs and make sure you take the correct exit.
St. Helena
Country estate charm abounds at the Harvest Inn. Guest room cottages are nestled throughout 8 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Each guest room and suite has its unique personality, with views overlooking Whitehall Lane Winery's 14-acre vineyard or lushly landscaped gardens. The views were breathtaking.

Attraction

The wine tasting was great! The grounds at the wineries were fabulous--so pretty, with perfect gardens. The background information that you can learn about a winery is amazing. Take a tour--it's worth every penny.

Story/Tip

There are MANY wineries to stop at on the way to CIA. I suggest stopping at the smaller wineries. There are great stories of families who own the smaller wineries and how they got where they are today.
