Overview

Beautiful Cyprus, ancient and modern. If you only ever spend a week there, it will be worth your while.

Quick Tips:

Plenty for all the family, but those with the curiosity to explore will get the best from the island.

Go early or later in the summer. July/August/September are exceptionally hot.

Best Way To Get Around:

A car is a must if you want to get around. Although there are beaches in the costal towns, the best and quietest ones are off the beaten track. Although there are coach trips available to many of the tourist attractions, a car will give you greater freedom.

An excellent example of timeshare accommodation at its best. Spacious apartment, well-equipped so long as you aren't planning to throw any dinner parties.

Pleasant, if unexciting, bar and restaurant and a good pool. There isn't much nightlife - but this close to Limassol and all it has to offer, you can always find nightlife if you want it. Beware - not much for active children or teenagers.

To summarise, Cyprus is a magical place.

Best Things About the Resort:
Lovely apartments
Quiet
Hospitable - the staff were excellent.

Resort Experience:
Great for adults or grown-up families. Nice pool area. Adequate bar and restaurant. Great place to stay while you explore Cyprus - Paphos 40 minutes, Troodos 1 hour, Larnaca 50 minutes, Nicosia about an hour. For culture junkies, you are just a few minutes away from Curium, some of the best Roman remains on the island, and also from Kollossi's crusader fort. The best beach is also at Curium.

Limassol offers all you need for nightlife, restaurants, and shopping, though there are plenty of places to eat closer to the resort.

Michael's TavernBest of IgoUgo

From the outside, this Michael's looks very rough and ready. It looks like that on the inside as well, come to think of it. But Michael will give you a warm welcome and a meat meze you will be talking about for the rest of your stay. Wine is cheap, and of course, so is local beer. Expat Brits living in Cyprus are regular visitors, so it does get busy at times, but Michael always seems to be able to squeeze people in. Don't judge this book by its cover; judge it by its local "feel" and enthusiasm for life. If you are very lucky, Michael might even play his bazouki for you.

An excellent restaurant that is a dining esperience in itself. It's a set meal, but you'll have no problem finding something you like. You start with a choice of two soups - one familiar and one local. Go on to the buffet, with every type of cold meat, fish, salad, and cheese that you can think of. The third course is a snack of pastry, chicken and mushroom. Finally, finish with the main course - a meat board with four types of cooked meat served in delicious sauces. If you have room, then there is a dessert trolley or crepes. Finally, finally there's coffee. That lot, plus a nice bottle of local wine, came to £CY 36 - about £40 sterling for two.
