Pyramids, riding camels, the Nile, museums, scuba diving in the Red Sea, walking amid buildings older than anything built in the United States, and observing the Muslim culture firsthand: all I can say is wow!

Movenpik

Best Things Nearby:
Shopping, beach, parasailing, scuba diving, glass bottom boat, restaurants, dinner with the Bedoins

Best Things About the Resort:
Plush, marble sidewalks, lush vegetation on a desert peninsula

Resort Experience:
The Red Sea was cobalt blue. There are lots of water activities, lots of shopping, food, casinos, and just relaxing on the beach with a comfortable breeze. There were people of all nationalities. It's a resort town visited by both Egypt's president and our President Clinton.

Gambling

There are 14 casinos in Cairo alone. Amid all the ruins, history, and culture, gaming prevails for those who like to take a chance and like the excitement of winning.

Cairo Museum or Egyptian Museum

It's amazing to walk amid objects of art and history that are older than any man-made thing in America. There are mummies, coffins, shoes, King Tut, and Ramses. It's overwhelming to be among such ancient treasures.

Sharm el Sheik

Experience

scuba diving
We drove to the tip if the Sinai Peninsula to stay the weekend at this renowned resort. The president of Egypt vacations there, and so had President Bill Clinton. It is so lush compared to Cairo and the surrounding countryside. The Red Sea was cobalt blue. We parasailed, scuba dived, and just laid on the beach. Shopping is amazing. All the sidewalks were marble at our resort. Flowers everywhere. I met people from Italy and England. It appears to be a favorite of Europeans in October, when their climate has become chilly.
