Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

South Beach Resort offers its guests a free shuttle service to all the local hot spots. If you like gambling, Southern Elegance Cruise Boat will send a shuttle to your hotel to pick up for the morning or evening cruise. If you like to walk, a nice evening cruise down the boulevard is nice on a summer evening.

Best Things Nearby:
South Beach resort is perfectly situated on the boulevard. It is close to everything! This wonderful resort offers everything you need for the perfect vacation, so there is really no reason to leave the resort. But if you desire to venture out, the resort offers a free shuttle to almost all of the popular spots around town.

Best Things About the Resort:
The best thing about South Beach Resort is that it is quiet and feels so much like home. We felt like that we were the only people at the resort. We never heard any of our neighbors. All of the staff is so friendly, and they talked to you like they had known you forever. They were full of very useful suggestions for fun things to do and tips that the locals know.

Resort Experience:
South Beach resort is a beautiful, relaxing place. Everything you need is right there at the resort: the beach, indoor pool, outdoor pool, lazy river, hot tubs, spa, restaurants, store, exercise room, game room, golf, washer/dryer, library with book and movie rental, Internet access, daily activities, free shuttle service, and much more. There is no reason to leave the resort! The best thing is that the resort is expanding everyday. They have four additional units that are ready to open later this summer. A large pool with a swim-up bar and adjoining water park is also in process. We plan to return again in August. I look forward to seeing the progress that has been made!

Benjamin's Calabash SeafoodBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Original Benjamin's Seafood Buffet"

There is no dish that this wonderful buffet lacks! It has everything, from Southern food to the local seafood favorites. There is a carving station that offers steak, prime rib, turkey, ham, roast beef, etc. I loved the pasta bar that offered a variety of pasta that could be combined with chicken or seafood and different spices and sauces. The chef at the pasta bar could cook up any combination imaginable just for you. There was an endless bar of vegetables cooked every way possible. If you weren't too stuffed from all the delicious food, there was a countless number of different sweet desserts! I have tried many buffets at Myrtle Beach, and Original Benjamin's is by far the best on the beach.

They offer coupons for $3 and $4 off the buffet price for early birds.

There is also a great website, www.restaurant.com, that sells gift certificates for participating restaurants in all states. They have a $25 gift certificate for the Original Benjamin's at Myrtle Beach that only costs $10. It is a great deal. I have purchased this particular certificate two times so far. It is like getting an adult buffet free! Sometimes they run specials when you can purchase the gift certificates for even less than $10. It is a great website worth checking out.

Medieval Times Dinner & TournamentBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament"

Our fighting Knight
This is the best show on the beach! I have seen it four times, each time with a different story plot. It is well worth the $40 ticket price. You can enter the "castle" 90 minutes before the show starts and mingle with the characters, buy souvenirs, have a drink, and tour the "dungeon." The friendly cast gladly poses for pictures with you. They offer a knighting ceremony for people celebrating special occasions. I had my husband knighted last year for his birthday. It was a hoot!

Once you are seated in the arena, dinner is served. The waiters, called "wenches," are there for your every need. The food is delicious. I was very shocked, because usually the food is only okay at these dinner shows, but Medieval Times offers both great food and a great show. The costumes that the cast, including the horses, wears are very authentic looking like they came from the time period they are portraying. The tournament itself is action-packed. I find myself seating on the edge of my chair, loudly and passionately cheering for my knight and completely forgetting to eat my dinner! This is a must-see show for people of every age.
