Hilton Head is very beautiful. It is extremely hot in the summer and good for the beach. I'm sure the fall is a perfect time to go for biking and golfing. It's not your typical tourist destination. It's more like an upscale residential setting. It's very tastfully laid out, and there are strict rules on signage, although sometimes this can cause you to pass things. The island is set up in plantation areas, and each has its own flavor. Day trips include Daufuskie Island. There are excursions that will ferry you out to the island take you on a bus trip and then have a nice meal at one of their restaurants.
