Overview

Start your visit in the business center of Coral Gables known as Miracle Mile with the fashionable boutiques and outdoor cafes. It runs from South 42 St to South 37 St. Stop at the City Hall and get a map of the city with a 20-mile self-guided tour of the City Beautiful. After walking Miracle Mile, you have to get into a car to visit the Venetian Pool, Biltmore Hotel, Merrick House 1920 home of Coral Gables founder and University of Miami, home of the Hurricanes.

Quick Tips:

For a quick lunch while visiting Miracle Mile, stop at the Colognage Hotel and you can visit the elegant entrance atrium or go north on Ponce de Leon Boulevard 2 blocks until Giralda Ave. turn right and you will find quite a few small ethnic restaurants, any one you pick will have delicious food.

Best Way To Get Around:

Walk Miracle Mile, drive for the rest. Public buses are a poor source of transportation.
Coral Gables is just a 7 mile drive by taxi or rental car from the airport

Large appointed rooms with beautiful views. King size bed. Very comfortable and up to date bathroom. Large towels and robes in the bedrooms. AC control, TV, Mini bar and all toiletries. Quiet rooms.

Centrally located in Miracle Mile the accomodations were within what it would be espected in an Omni Hotel. Very modern rooms with 2 double beds. Because of the location, some of the rooms are noisy.

Nice average Holiday Inn hotel rooms. Well kept and good room service. Towels are not the best I have seen but sill the location and price is excellent for the area.

Nice efficient and clean rooms with double beds. Not too quiet and with average decore. Some rooms with kitchenette. Rooms facing the main Blvd. should be avoided. Overall it''s a place to stay for no more than 3 days.

This restaurant has been on the top list for many years. I'd recommend lamb chops or any pasta. And for dessert, the chocolate mousse cake always tops off an excellent dinner. Service is fast and owner Nino Pernetti is always there to supervise everything.

Typical cuban cuisine with the black beans and rice, steak and fried bananas. It is like visiting Cuba without leaving the country. Service is courteous and prompt. There are other specialties in the English spanish menu worth trying.

The Venetian Pool was one of the first creations in the city of Coral Gables. Carved in the coral rock in 1923 to form this Venetian type lagoon, with caves and a sandy beach. It has a capacity of 820,000 gallons of water and is open every day except Mondays. Gift shop within the premises.
