The beaches there are great. Located where the ocean starts, Punta del Este has great beaches to hang out, relax, and sunbathe. I went there with some friends for some days in the off-season, and it was just perfect. We stayed in an apartment near a beach that was deserted. It was not too crowded, so it was just right. In summer, it gets filled with people, and you can lay back and enjoy the people and the beautiful sun and water.
