Attending the impromptu musical performances in the "press tent" and the Tuareg events proved to be the most worthwhile activities. While the main stage events were spotty at best, the yearly regular Baba Salah ended up being the highlight for just about every festival-goer. Many big names in Malian music did not attend this past year due to issues with the promoters from the 2004 festival.
