Palma Real Beach Resort

A January 2005 trip to La Ceiba by Tanya70

This is an all-inclusive resort in Honduras. We travelled here through Conquest, not RCI.

Best Things Nearby:
Use of the waterpark is included with this resort, which provided excellent entertainment for my children. The adults loved it too! It has three water slides, a splash area, and a wave pool.

Best Things About the Resort:
Nice and quiet, no crowds, and weather was fabulous, very safe, and inexpensive.

Resort Experience:
We loved this resort. It is fairly new to foreign tourism, and they are still working out the kinks, but they try really hard. It was just our plane load of people there (maybe 150 people), so you could always get a beach chair, and there were no line-ups. The food was only adequate, though, so don't expect too much there. Not horrible, but not great. Take lots of sunscreen and bug spray - they spray the resort daily for mosquitos, but we still got bit. There were two pools, lots of room to swim and enjoy the watersports, and again, it was not crowded. This resort is primarily geared toward relaxation, though, as activities off the resort are limited. Going into town is almost unnecessary, as there isn't much to do there. I highly recommend doing the canopy tour, though, if you are adventurous! It was the highlight of my trip. A horseback ride up the mountain, ride 13 cables through the treetops, and then end at a natural hotsprings. Overall, we had an excellent week!
