Restaurants I have been to on Cape Cod

Jimmy D's

This is a sports bar that offers great luncheon specials for under $10. The burgers are very good. Another good meal is the scallop roll--can't be beat for the money. The owner runs hot and cold, and some of the waitstaff are loud, but for a good, cheap burger or scallop roll, this is the place to go.

Seafood Sam's

Restaurant

Seafood Sam's

There are several locations (Harwichport, Sandwich, and Falmouth). This is a seasonal restaurant. Website: http://seafoodsams.com/

This is counter service, and then there are tables to eat at, or you can take it to go. Lunch specials are great, between $5-$10, and are the perfect size. This place is so busy that the food is always fresh. I love the clam strips and popcorn shrimp. It's a great place to get something fast!

Doyles Restaurant

Restaurant

Doyle's

This is a wonderful place for lunch. I used to stop here all the time until my office moved to Hyannis. For lunch, they have a special (I know they have it on weekdays, but I'm not sure about weekends) that offers most of the dinner entrées for $10. This includes prime rib and seafood. They also have great specials for $5 to $6. Service is good and fast. There is a bar you can eat at, or you can go to the restaurant section. They also have an outside area. They have keno here, too.

Whitman House

Restaurant

Whitman House

Whitman House is a great place to eat. It is right on the corner of Route 6 and County Road, so it's easy to find. They have early bird specials at great prices. From prime rib to seafood, this place is wonderful. You get great cheese and crackers to start, and the early bird special has a family-style salad, entrée, dessert, and coffee. The special is from 5 to 6pm. Reservations are suggested on holidays, like Mother's Day, Father's Day, and so on. On Mother's Day, every mom gets a flower. It is closed in the dead of winter, but prior to that, they always have a fire burning in the fireplace. It's a good restaurant in an old Cape Cod house. It’s a great place.

Paradise Pizza

Restaurant

Paradise Pizza

Paradise Pizza is a great little place for takeout and also eat-in. The subs are bigger than most places. The steak and cheese is one of my favorites, and my husband likes the pizza. The lasagna is also very good. You have to try the garlic rolls you get with the lasagna; they are very good and homemade. It's a great place for a takeout dinner.

Friendly Fisherman

This seasonal restaurant is where all the locals go. Although it appears to be expensive, when you get the order, it is huge. It is located in a strip mall just past the North Eastham Post Office set of lights, if coming from Orleans. Everything is fresh, and they even have a seafood market next door. This is counter service, and they have a few tables to eat outside. This is a must when on the Lower Cape. Everyone goes to Arnold's, and this is just a short way past it (maybe a mile) on the same side. I love the scallop roll. It's one of, if not the best, seafood takeout places on the lower cape.

Gourmet Brunch

Restaurant

Gourmet Brunch

This is an overrated breakfast restaurant. It is expensive, and food is okay. The eggs Benedict is good but expensive. The location also makes it very hard for parking. Service is good, but I do think that it is worth the high prices.

Collucci Brothers Diner

This is a great little diner that I tried for the first time last week. I had an omelet for my lunch and the Italian homefries (Italian seasoning, sausage, peppers, onions, and cheese), which is excellent and a meal in itself. My husband had the meatloaf sandwich, which he said was good. The waitress was very efficient. Food came out very fast and nice and hot. I really enjoyed it and will be going there again soon. They also have takeout.

Jerry's Seafood

Restaurant

Jerry's Seafood

This is a counter-service restaurant. It has great fried clams and other lunch specials. Service is quick and the food is very good. There are several tables to eat at, or you can take the food to go. There is also an ice-cream area. It used to be opened year-round, but this year it closed during the winter. There is also a "sale pending" sign. I was in there last week, and Skip's wife was talking about them trying to sell it. It looks like it may be true. I just hope the new owners don’t change it.
