It was not terrible, but not great either. We had gotten a great rate through an Internet special, which made it very affordable. The room was clean and decently appointed. However, the staff was pert and slightly rude on most occasions. The elevator would only work if there were five or less people in it, which was difficult since I was travelling with a group of nine. Worst of all, there was a club playing ridiculously loud music that was blasting through the lobby, and for some mysterious reason, you could hear voices and a baby crying through the vent in our bathroom. The hotel was in a good location; it was a short walk to Robson Street and all its pleasures. So, all in all, it worked for ...Read More

Parking was crazy! That being said, this place was awesome. It is a very fun and classy place to hang out with your friends! It's right off of the beautiful beach, and at night, it is dimly lit, with color bouncing off the walls and a candle on every table. It is a bar, so there are plasma TVs everywhere, but don't worry, they are muted (unless you want them on). The food was great. There were nine of us, and each of us walked away happy. I had the veggie burger, and it was flame-grilled to perfection. The best part was the drink specials, even on a Saturday! Where else can you get a great martini for less than C$5?? I highly recommend the Bikini Martini - very tasty. The service was res...Read More

It's quite funny when you first drive up. There is an unassuming parking lot, and in the distance, you can see a few zebra milling about. We arrived after a very rainy night, and there was only one other car in the parking lot! Inside the gates, you are greeted by some playful monkeys - very fun. It reminded me of my childhood dream to have a zoo in my backyard. The zoo is one big circle, with pens dotting it and bisected by a savana-type area. Each animal's habitat, while not so much true to its origins, provided a stunning view of the animal. They all seemed docile and accepting of their environment, happy to see and be seen. It is not the most impressive or high-tech zoo around, but the pe...Read More

If you have never been to a LUSH store or have not sampled their products, you are missing out!! It is a handmade cosmetics wonderland that is well represented in Canada. You can order products online, but a visit to the store is a must if you are in Vancouver. My favorite location is on Robson Street, right across from a chocolate shop in case if your mate is stubborn and refuses to go in. Inside, you'll find handcrafted items to delight your senses for every part of your body. There is everything from massage bars made from real chocolate to a shower gel that wakes you up in the morning, shampoo that transforms your hair to supermodel status, and even freshly made masks that will take years o...Read More
