Quote: My first trip to Europe (1991) was to visit classmates in Helsinki. It changed my life--being the inspiration to live in Europe. Ten years later, it happened when I moved to Germany. All this from that first taste of heaven in Helsinki!

This is a regular Helsinki tram line going along some of the bigger streets. It is a great way to explore the city. Of course, I would recommend the Helsinki Card to go with it. Or if you are on a longer trip to Helsinki, just buy a tourist day ticket for public transportation.

The route of tramline 3T seems to be cut out for a sightseeing tour, it is passing most of the sights that are a must in Helsinki. Furthermore you’ll make the tour at the lowest cost possible, now at the price of a tram-ticket.

You can board the tram at any stop. The tour takes about 60 minutes. There is a brochure from HKL (transportation authority) that explains site along the way..

Arabia

Attraction | "Arabia Factory Shop"

This was a nice surprise at the end of tram line 6 (Arabia stop). BUT the line is extending, so it is no longer the last stop.

This is the best place to buy the brands at the heart of Finnish design. If you live outside of the EU, consider having everything shipped home. The reduction in VAT and other discounts can make up for the price of shipping. At least buy an Aalto vase!

Do not confuse the Arabia store on Esplandati with the Arabia FACTORY store.

A beautiful 10-minute ride from the Helsinki Harbor finds you in Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The island has several museums and restaurants. Fun for the whole family.

Transportation information--use public ferry; it is much cheaper and more frequent than private companies. Get a daily tourist card.
