Honeymoon in the Mountains

An April 2005 trip to Gatlinburg by 'Stelle

We had a week of stress-free relaxation in the mountains. It was just what was needed after a beautiful (yet stressful) wedding.

Hotel | "Laurel Point"

Best Things Nearby:
Everything is close to you here. Shopping, dining, entertainment: anything you could want is a short drive (or trolley ride) down the mountain.

Best Things About the Resort:
This resort is as isolated or in the middle of everything as you want it to be. You are in the mountains with a beautiful view and great units with fireplaces.

Resort Experience:
We had a two-bedroom with two baths. The bath in the master bedroom had a whirlpool tub (that I didn't get to enjoy due to a plaster cast). The kitchens are very well equipped and the units are huge. The fireplaces are a nice touch and all units have patios. We had a mountain view that was breathtaking in the morning as well as at sunset.

Bennett's BBQBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Bennett’s Pit Bar-B-Que"

Bennett's was the best barbeque I have ever eaten. They have a wide range of foods available, not just barbeque. They have a great soup and salad bar for the healthier eaters! Also serving breakfast on the weekends, this is a restaurant not to pass up while in Gatlinburg!

Maxwell's Steak & SeafoodBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Maxwell's"

Maxwell's has a wide variety of choices on the menu, steaks and seafood mostly. We went here after being told what great seafood they had. We were very disappointed. The prices were extremely high for what you got and the food was nothing to brag about. The service was awful, the manager was rude, and the food was less than mediocre.

Alamo SteakhouseBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

Alamo Steakhouse is a must every time we visit Gatlinburg. The food and the service are superb, with a great atmosphere. The prices aren't too bad for the amount of food that you get. It is definitely a place to stop for lunch or dinner.
