A Week in Gulfport in April

An April 2005 trip to Mississippi by 2cranes

The MS Gulf Coast is an enjoyable place to visit, with lots of casinos and gambling. There are also plenty of good eating places. There is a nice wide beach, but it is not always easily accessible.

Best Things About the Resort:
There is a well-equipped apartment: plenty of kitchen space, pots, pans, casserole dishes, etc. There are roomy rooms with plenty of space.

Resort Experience:
The resort is located across busy Highway 90, a four-lane highway that makes walking to the beach not so handy. The beach is nice and wide, and was almost deserted. If you take a car, there is parking available along the beach, so you can avoid crossing US 90.

The resort had no activities available. The only amenities were a swimming pool and hot tub. There was no exercise room, restaurant, or anything else. There are railroad tracks nearby. If you are a light sleeper, you might end up counting engine whistles instead of sheep.

They had good fajitas, but they were a bit on the greasy side. They also had generous servings. The fajita chicken salad was excellent. There are daily specials. It was family-friendly - every child we saw had a helium balloon.
