A 2-hour drive south from Stuttgart to the famous castle of King Ludwig’s Neuschwanstein. There are guided tours specific to your spoken language. “Mad” King Ludwig had exquisite taste, as he built this castle. It has beautiful furniture, paintings, and carvings. The grand ballroom was my favorite. I imagined what the nobles and other country royalty experiences in this grand palace. Walk slowly if the guide allows you. We stayed in a nice hotel in Fussen and found the people of Bavaria to be very friendly.
