Freaky sh*t in Atlanta

Buckhead, Midtown and shopping malls are out of control. We were lucky enough to have connections to get us into some of the clubs - lines were long. We also took in a Versace Fashion Show. Super cool. I have never been around such open people.

Best Way To Get Around:

Take a train!! A cab from the airport to the Buckhead area will cost while the train costs only .50 and arrives at each stop every 15 minutes.

After leaving the Holiday Inn because it was so dirty and reeked of a sour sewer stench, we arrived at the Courtyard Marriott. The ATM in the lobby was really convenient and the hotel bar was cute and comfortable. Our room was large with a view of the city and was in walking distance of many restaurants and bars. Since it snowed (before Feb. for the first time in 25 years - uh, hello??) and there was a tornado warning, we opted to use the hotel''s shuttle - which is as good as a private limo considering that it''s completely free! Rooms were clean and roomservice was good and inexpensive.

Although there was an hour wait, you can go upstairs to a table and order and appetizers and drinks up there. It's as good as being seated immediately. The food is well priced and the appetizer portions are huge and very tasty. Dinner was average and again, was very large portions. The service was excellent and the ambiance was comfortable and relaxed. We were too full for desert but the cheesecake menu was unbelievable!! Any kind you could ever dream up was offered. To go is a great idea!

There was a Versace Fashion Show the night that we went to 1150. Long line outside but we were fortunate to bypass it since we knew people. The club was slow when we got there at 11 but quickly filled up. Lounge style seating around the dancefloor made for some interesting people watching - and talking to new people was not a problem. I have never been approached by so many people ever!! Guys in Atlanta are definately confident and straight forward. The scene is really open though - married couples making out with other people, guys and girls hitting on me, people getting freaky. Definately for the more open-minded. There are a couple of 24 hour clubs in the immediate 1150 area so walking from club to club is the way to travel. We stayed out until after 6a.m. and when I took off, places were still rocking. Great time, just bring an open mind - and a lot of money. High cover gets annoying fast.

There are about 35-45 bars and clubs in the immediate area in Buckhead. We were too hung-over from the night before in the 24 hour clubs and couldn't do the Buckhead scene but it looked awesome!!! Pubs, clubs with Rap artists performing, Country Western places, raves and lounges made for numerous choices in Buckhead. Everything from Plush to ESPN Zone to choose from. Definitely for the college crowd and tourists but from what I have been told, more fun then midtown.
