Even though the mountain was closed, there was enough snow on the mountain to ski. I hiked up the mountain, which took me 2 hours, and skiied down fresh power. AWESOME! We also went to Glacier Natl. Park twice during the week and saw elk and deer and hiked for about three hours. The small town of Whitefish is a great town, and the people are very pleasant. There are great places to eat and go out. Fernie Alpine Resort is also just two hours away north in Canada, in case you are at Big Mountain to ski and they are closed.Quick Tips: Pick up an Independent paper at the Great Montana Coffee House and get up to speed on the local event listings.
