I searched around all day for the perfect pub to unwind in after a long day of sightseeing. Unfortunately, all I had was my American Express card, so I had to look for awhile to find a pub that would accept my card. Near the city centre, I stumbled upon the Gardeners Arms, a.k.a. The Murderers, which has an excellent bar, great food (from Murderers Café Bar), and friendly service. The bangers and mash totally hit the spot, as did the great beer on tap. The open-air market at the city centre is an excellent place to wander around for an afternoon. More than 200 stalls sell everything from coffee mugs and cowboy boots to fresh fish and record albums. (The stall with the record albums looked like it had some really good finds -- the type of place where, if you dig deeply enough, you'll find some real gems.)
