An April 2005 trip
to Los Angeles by rbank
Quote: As a television and film producer, I have to go to Los Angeles often. Being from Chicago, I tend to "mildly despise" all that L.A. has to offer, yet I try to have a good time!
Hotel | "Mondrian"
The hotel itself is very modern, yet surprisingly relaxing. The staff is really cool and helpful. I had a suite that overlooked almost the entire downtown area and much of the Sunset Strip. It is decorated in all white, with a very cool style.
Overall, I would stay here anytime, but only on an expense account!

Hotel | "Sheraton Gateway LAX"
The room is very spacious and features the "Sweet Sleeper" beds, which are awesome! This would be considered a business hotel. It is right next to the airport and rental car locations. You can obviously hear the planes when you are at the pool, but you can't hear them at all inside.
I wouldn't shy away from this hotel, but don't stay here if you are looking for the true LA experience.
