Ritz Carlton Amelia Island

A January 2005 trip to Amelia Island by EBBoyd

I arrived to a beautiful lobby and intimate check-in area. The room was breathtaking. Lovely bathroom and balcony with a view of the pool and ocean.

The best thing to do was to go to the lobby lounge. They had nightly entertainment, generous drink servings, and wonderful food.

Quick Tips:

There was nightly piano jazz complete with dancing.

Best Way To Get Around:

Ride a bike or take a car or taxi. Walking on the beachfront is fabulous.

The dim lighting and a fireplace were the highlights. We were seated in front of the fireplace on a cold January evening. Service was exquisite from start to finish. The tuna ceviche appetizer was divine, and the pork toast was tender and full of flavor. It had a quiet atmosphere that allowed intimate conversation. There was a room upstairs with entertainment and a small bar.

I also had room service while visiting the Ritz Carlton. We chose to have cheesecake and key lime pie on our balcony overlooking the ocean and pool. Service was swift and friendly. The dessert was amazing; the cheesecake was so smooth and velvety and the key lime pie was just tart enough to bite the tongue. They were beautifully presented as well. It was a wonderful dessert experience.
