Sedona is a great vacation spot! Not only is this a very scenic city, but Sedona is a great central spot to all of the attractions! It's an easy drive to Phoenix, Flagstaff, Prescott, Jerome, and the Grand Canyon.

Sunterra Resorts at the Ridge on Sedona Golf Cour

Best Things Nearby:
Grand Canyon, hiking Sedona Red Rocks, golf, scenic drives

Best Things About the Resort:
Very well-maintained. It is in Sedona!

Resort Experience:
There were three of us in a one-bedroom unit, and it was very spacious. It was also one of the best-maintained units I have ever stayed in. (I later read that the building had just opened in the fall.)

This resort is actually about 7 miles from downtown Sedona. It is very close to the outlets and located right next to the Hilton. In fact, you have access to the Hilton pools and exercise facilities.

The kitchen was large enough for everyone to help prepare dinner, and the dining table seated four comfortably. The family room had a fold-out sofa, two chairs, a fireplace, and a DVD player. It also had a sliding glass door that opened to a patio. The bathroom had a large tub with jets and a separate shower (only one sink). This unit also had a stackable washer/dryer. Our unit looked out onto the golf course.

The reception center has two computers with Internet access and a printer. They also had complimentary coffee and tea 24 hours a day!

The resort has a small game room with a pool table and an area to borrow games, puzzles, and books. They also have organized activities.

The only thing I could find "wrong" with the resort is if you ended up with a unit facing the parking lot, you would be contending with the lights and noise from the cars coming and going.

Coffee Pot

Restaurant

Coffee Pot Restaurant

I had read all of the reviews on RCI Community and had written down the Coffee Pot restaurant as a must-breakfast spot in Sedona. Well, there is no problem finding the restaurant; it is the only restaurant where the parking lot is FULL! There was a wait regardless of what day or time we went (yes, we went back). The reviews touted over 100 omelettes. Okay, there are probably some omelettes on the menu that are never ordered - like the peanut butter and jelly omelet. Now for the review... there is a reason that everyone recommends this restaurant! It is inexpensive, good, fast, and filling. The three-egg omelettes come with your choice of hash browns, home fries, or grits and toast or a large homemade biscuit. If you don't like eggs, don't worry; they have a full menu, including waffles, HUGE pancakes, and Mexican food during the lunch hour. They are not open for dinner. This breakfast was well worth the wait!

Dahl & DiLuca

Restaurant

Rustica Cantina - Dahl and Deluca

The service was EXCELLENT and the food was delicious. My daughter ordered a chicken Caesar salad and said the chicken was very good. She said it tasted like the chicken had been marinated. I ordered a pasta dish, which I asked to have shrimp added to. It was not at all what I expected, but it was VERY good. The oil for the bread had an extra spice added in, and when we asked for some Parmesan cheese to add to the oil, they brought us freshly grated cheese. Our water glasses were never empty, which was quite a feat! The desserts looked great, but we couldn't eat all of our dinner (we took half of it to go), so we didn't get to try them. This restaurant is a little pricey, but worth every penny!

Sunset

Experience

Seen from the overlook off Airport Rd
It was by accident that we found a great place to view the sunset on the red rocks. (Apparently a lot of other people know about this spot.)

Take airport road, and about halfway up the road to the airport, there is a spot to park and view the sunset.

Check out my photos in this journal to get an example of the breath taking views. The sunset isn't the only view - turn around and look at the sun reflecting off of the rocks. They turn a bright orange!
