Over-Nighting in Perry

Overview

Quote:
I discovered Perry, GA quite by accident. I was headed to south central Georgia and was going to have to stop before I got there. There was Perry on the map, so I pulled in. That one visit started a series of stays because of the welcome and service I received. The town is quaint and proud of it's heritage, in fact the downtown area looks like a colonial town. You'll like the neat shops and well kept look about the place. There is a large choice of lodging, as well as many restaurants- from typical chains to local goodies. Perry also happens to be the home of the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter, probably one of the nicest, neatest, and beautiful fairgrounds I've been to, and I've been to p...Read More

Hampton Inn Perry

Hotel | "Hampton Inn"

When writing about a hotel room at a well known chain that seems to always put it''s best foot forward, what do you say? The rooms are always clean, with a nice decor and comfortable beds. It has a pool, cable, irons in the room, etc. What makes the Perry Hampton stand out is their people. The staff is great. These folks know the meaning of good service and show a ''willing to help'' attitude that goes the extra mile. I''ve stayed at the hotel several times, usually with a group ranging from 10 to 16 people, and each visit confirms the fact that the management has a good thing going. The personal service clinches it for me.

Best Western Bradbury Inn

Hotel | "Best Western Inn and Suites of Perry, GA"

Quote:
The Best Western is a nice option when staying in Perry, especially for business travellers or someone looking for a suite. The hotel has several amenities, including an in-room refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer, and an iron and ironing board. They have an indoor pool, sauna, and fitness room to work out in if you are so inclined. The hotel actually is in some ways superior to the Hampton Inn, but when it comes right down to it, the service at the Hampton, as well as the continental breakfast was better. Not that I would discourage anyone from staying at the Best Western, but that was my experience. The Best Western is still a very nice hotel, and if you are partial to more amenities or...Read More

Angelina's Italian Garden Cafe

Angelina's was a great find. Here in central Georgia is a place that makes their dishes like in the 'old country'. All hand prepared, home made Italian wonders that tempted the eye and dazzled the tastebuds. We walked in with a group of 16 people - the service was excellent, and the food was out of this world. From Linguini in clam sauce and manicotti, to tiramisu and cannollis, every plate came out fresh, hot, beautiful and delicious!!! Along with dinner came a green salad with a delightful house vinigrette and fresh rolls, straight from the oven, drizzled with garlic butter. I can recommend the eggplant parmigiana, deep fried until crisp and topped with a slightly sweet marinara sauce, served with a...Read More

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Best Of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "The Cracker Barrel"

Quote:
The Cracker Barrel is a well known chain throughout the US, known for it's home-style cooking as well as it's country store. I have eaten at this location twice, with divergent experiences. The first time I went to this restaurant, it was just like you would expect: good home-cooking and service with a smile. Everyone in our party was pleased, so we chalked it up as a place to return. A year later, I'm not sure what had transpired, but it was NOT as it had been before. In fact, it was past disappointing. We were kind of upset as we left(and obviously took it off the return list). Orders were mixed up, the food came out cold, the service was terrible, and there was no apology from the staff or the mana...Read More
