Aquarium
We took a day to go to Paradise Island and the Atlantis resort. If you do go, don't miss the Aquarium at the Atlantis. Going into town and the Straw Market are fun. There are good restaurants and shopping in town. However, I enjoyed Cable Beach the most, and the pools at the Westwind II.

Quick Tips:

Shop around before you buy, and don't fall under the pressure of the hard sell. Sometimes you do just to get rid of the seller, so be strong!!

Best Way To Get Around:

Public transportation is the only way to go! It's only per person to go anywhere you want to go, and it's convenient--the bus stops wherever you hail them, and they come continuously.

Best Things Nearby:
If you like to gamble, there's a casino two resorts down, the beach, and downtown.

Best Things About the Resort:
Small and quiet, friendly atmosphere, public transportation right in front of resort, close to restaurants and grocery store

Resort Experience:
As I said, the resort is small, which makes for a more relaxing vacation, and you get to know most of the people staying there by the end of the week. It is right on the beach and has two swimming pools.

The unit was a one-bedroom but had a loft with two twin beds and its own bathroom--so it was really two-bedroom. The unit is not fancy and has no extras, but it's comfortable and roomy.

If I were to stay at this resort again, I would take my own beach towels. If you want to use the resort's "beach towels," there is a weekly charge per person. And you get a cheap towel that you can only trade in once for a new one--four days later. The laundry facilities are not very good, either. There are three washers and two dryers that are used by the resort staff until 5pm daily--at which time it is opened for the use of the resort's guests and everyone begins rushing to try to get there first.

  • Unit Type: 1 Bedroom
  • Activities: Good
  • Amenities: Fair
  • Unit Satisfaction: Good
  • Family Friendliness: Very Good
  • Service: Very Good

Athena Cafe
This is a Greek restaurant, and the food is wonderful. It's a nice stop during a day of shopping or sightseeing. Sit on the deck and watch the hectic scene on Nassau's main street.

Excellent atmosphere. Has outside seating if the weather is nice. Very relaxing. If you are not into French food, there's a great pizza on the menu. Food is very good.

Restaurant

This was my favorite restaurant in Nassau. Unfortunately, most of the shops and other restaurants at the mall have closed, so its future isn't looking good. We sat on the deck and had such a wonderful meal! We all had something different and shared. All of the meals were great!
