Quote: Montepulciano bars and hills
Montepulcianno is famous for its wine, and there is no end of wine cellars, tastings, and tours. They are all similarly priced, and the Poliziano 2001 is a very good year!
Finally, the Cathedral of San Biagio is on the outskirts of town. It is a very pretty wander down the Via San Biagio, past the vines and fields (but not so good on the way back up!); take note that there are no toilets there, though, unless you have a coffee at the restaurant there.
Getting around Montepulciano is tiring (you will have buns of steel at the end) but worth it for the views. Make sure you take plenty of water with you, especially in the hot summer months. Driving in Montepulciano, I think, should be left to the locals, with the crazy gradients of the roads and lack of distinct paths!
