Shopping in upper Manhattan. So what if you're not buying much--it's still fun to browse, even if half the items cost more than your plain ticket. SoHo is also nice, cheaper, good food, interesting stores.
Quick Tips:
Just get out there. Don't spend too much time in the expensive parts--check out lower Manhattan and Greenwich Village, as well. Best Way To Get Around:
Taxi if you've got the dough and don't have the time; otherwise subway, but watch your wallet and back.
