Eat-n-Snow at Grand Targhee

A March 2005 trip to Jackson Hole by eatnsnow

The weather was spring-like and the slopes were fast. Grand Targhee has an overabundance of blue slopes that could easily pass for black in Colorado. It was nothing short of great. There were no crowds and the slopes kept calling our names.

The groomed slopes were the finest I've been on. The designation of the difficulty from blue to black was meaningless, since each slope carried a combination of both. This is not a beginner mountain but has everything for the intermediate to expert. The switch to off-trail backcountry was fun and gave a rush that can't be put into words. Although not quite as steep as Jackson Hole on the opposite side of the Tetons, I found it much less trying physically and was able to go up-down-up-down...
