Stirling

This is a modern bar with a highly styled utilitarian Polish interior. Upstairs there are private booths, and the big dance floor is downstairs, where you also have the Polish-style wooden tables. It is the trendiest place to drink in town, I gather! I really enjoyed the place and keep going back. A note to the ladies: Take your little black dresses out and beware - Stirling girls are famous for their outrageous style disregarding the extreme conditions of the weather! You can often see blokes in kilts, too. The staff is very friendly; I made friends with them the first night I went to visit! It is a nice place and good fun!

This is located right next to Pivo Bar. A big floor space on the ground floor level is divided into a variety of smaller rooms. It is quite nice when it is not totally crowded. However, it seems to be pretty popular, so it is a good location to meet people if you are new in town. The seating upstairs on a balcony area provides a more intimate atmosphere, but be there before the rush!

I have been there three times - once after a major rugby game, when almost every man was wearing their kilt, which I thought was quite fascinating! This is why I enjoy going out so much in Stirling. You get a bit of everything, the spirit of Scotland the Brave and a fair bit of modernity as well!
