I love London! So far it's the best city I've ever visited. You've got to book a trip there.

London Holiday

Overview

There's so much to see and do in London. You can visit time and time again and never run out of things to do. We visited Big Ben, the London Eye, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, The Tower of London, London Bridge, and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and we saw the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and walked through the Marble Arch and down the Princess Diana Memorial Walk. There's so much more I want to see; I'll have to make a return trip! The city is also so clean, it puts American cities to shame. Feeding the birds in Trafalgar Square is illegal now, or so I've heard, though tourists still do it.

Quick Tips:

Public transportation is excellent. We purchased a EuroRail Pass for unlimited access to the Tube (subway) and bus transportation. Tube and bus maps are readily available and very easy to follow. The tube goes everywhere; it's all you'll really need.

Best Way To Get Around:

Ride the Tube or the double-decker buses; they are all you'll need to get around. Cabs are also readily available. Walking is a wonderful way to get to know the city, as is riding the bus. In the Tube you're underground and don't see much but get places very fast if you have a limited amount of time. It's very clean and easy. If you want to take in more atmosphere, ride the bus. It is also very clean and makes frequent stops at attractions, and you meet people as well.

We had two double beds in our room. They were clean and comfortable. Order from the pillow menu what you like. The bathroom was clean and nice as well. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. There was a minibar and complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. There wasn't much of a view, but we were so tired exploring the city, it didn't matter.

There is a lounge and bar with a lovely garden court outside. It was very warm, though - too warm - we opened the windows to let some of the heat out. The location is right across the street from the Gloucester Street Tube stop, and there are two bus stations right there, a post box on the corner, a couple of restaurants, a small market and a major supermarket, and some lovely shops all on the same block.
