Skiing in Sun Peaks

A March 2005 trip to Sun Peaks by hoop1

Quote: I recently went with our ski club to Sun Peaks. They need snow badly, because the bottom half of the mountain is almost totally bare.

The condo was very nice, with a full kitchen, four bedrooms, three baths, a gas fireplace, and our own private hot tub, along with a ski closet outside.

Although we had a good time as a group, I wouldn't recommend going unless they get a big dump; by now, they have closed or should have closed the bottom of Tod Mtn. and Sundance Mtn. due to bareness. Mt. Morresy has the best snow, top to bottom, and the runs are excellent, but I don't know how long that will hold up if they don't get any snow. The staff was very nice and outgoing; except for at McSporties, we must have caught them at a bad time. The three mountains have excellent skiing terrain that the resort can build around, but unless the resort makes some improvements such as village shuttle or ski check, they will not be considered the world-class resort everyone hopes for.
