I took a nice 3-day vacation to St. Simons and Jekyll Island. These are two great islands with two totally different atmospheres.

Tree Carvings
St. Simons Island is a great place for families or a couple to go and enjoy. There are bike rentals all over the island, and the bike paths are nice and go around the entire island. There is quite a history to the island, and it has nice places to visit to relive the past. You will have fun finding the unique tree carvings of faces all over the island.

Quick Tips:

I strongly suggest you take a day to go to Jekyll Island, which is 10 miles away. Don't go on Sunday, as many things are closed or close early. Jekyll Island is owned by the state, and many of its grounds are protected. They have nicer beaches and great ocean-side restaurants.

Best Way To Get Around:

The best way to get around is on a bike or by car.
This motel was clean and nice. It was in a great central location, and there was a sandwich shop, Huddle House, and shopping within walking distance. They also had bike rentals and a daily paper. We were happy with what we got for our money.
