A February 2005 trip to Kauai by KJO

We stayed at the Princeville resort. There were many different condominiums in this area. We stayed at the Bali High. We had a great time enjoying the beaches, the pool at the resort, and sightseeing! Everyone was in bed by 8:30pm on this island, it seemed.

Best Things Nearby:
There was a grocery store with almost anything you would need. Everything seemed to be $1 more on every item. Restaurants, a bank, and a gasoline station were near the grocery-store mall.

Best Things About the Resort:
It was clean and very well kept. The bath had a whirlpool tub/shower. The other bedroom had a shower. The kitchen had all of the dishes that you would ever need. We had a walk-out that went to the pool. The pool was the kids' favorite. You will have to visit here to see it. The resort had a meeting about things to do, and they gave us a map of the island. We were well informed about the things to do.

Resort Experience:
Kauai is known for its waterfalls, beaches, and green! The moment you get to your room after your 40-minute ride from the airport, take a walk to the pool and relax in the hot tub while the kids go to the pool. It is so nice to be able to drive 2 minutes to a grocery store.

The beaches are beautiful and waterfalls drain into the ocean. Visit the Princeville hotel for a Sunday brunch. Then go to the beach there for some snorkeling. (Bring your snorkel!

Make sure that the kids bring some Dramamine or Bonine for car sickness. The roads to the north end contour the island and end at a beautiful beach. Make sure that you watch the news for the TIDE report. One day the beach was beautiful for swimming and the next day it was very deep!

If you like to swim, snorkel, walk on the beaches, relax, hike, see beautiful flowers, waterfalls, take helicopter rides and boat tours, eat Hawaiian foods, drive and sightsee, and be in bed by 8:30pm, this is the island for you. Make sure you get a map of the island from the resort. They were extremely helpful!
