Best Things Nearby:I guess the Stratosphere and the Sahara were the best things.Best Things About the Resort: Resort Experience:The Hilton Grand Vacation Club on the Strip was actually a great place to stay. The biggest drawback was that it was pretty much in the middle of none of the action. It is located across the street from the now demolished Wet ‘n Wild, about a block away from the Sahara, and two blocks from the Stratosphere. We booked a getaway that included a two-night stay with $40 in gaming chips at either the Las Vegas Hilton or the Flamingo after a 2-hour timeshare presentation for a total of $237, including tax. So for really $100 per night,...Read More

This restaurant is quickly becoming one of my favorites in Las Vegas. Located at the Flamingo, this place is busy ever hour of the day, but it sure has good food. Okay, I have been there twice and have only had the burgers, but I think they do have the best burgers on the block. It was about 2pm when we arrived there, and there was a 45-minute wait. We put our name on the list, got our pager, and proceeded to make our way to the top floor. This floor is first-come, first-serve. They have a line area sectioned off where you can wait for the next table. So we decided to do this, and within 15 minutes, we were seated at a cute table overlooking Caesar’s Palace and the Strip below. The downfall ...Read More

Story/Tip

The first thing you learn in Vegas is that YOU ARE GOING TO LOOSE MONEY. But what most people don’t know is that there is a way to gamble and loose the casino’s money. On our most recent trip, we came across some deals where you were able to enjoy playing the slots and loose their money. When you do this, for the most part you are just doing it for the enjoyment purpose. At the casinos we played this at, we found that after we blew through their money, any money that we won above and beyond that we could cash out with. The first place we tried was the Flamingo right on the Strip. We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club. After we went through our presentation, we received two certificat...Read More

Transportation

Story/Tip

Quote:
The monorail system here is pretty slick. Although it is not like the Disneyland monorail, nor nearly as long, it does work to take you from point A to point B. At the cost of $3 per ride, $20 for 10 trips (transferable 12 exp), $10 for day use (non transferable), or $20 for 3-day use (non transferable), you can go from one end of the Strip to the other. The beginning point is the MGM Grand, and the ending point is the Sahara, with several stops in between. Since we stayed at the HGVC across from the Sahara, I will start from there. The stops are Sahara, Las Vegas Hilton, Las Vegas Convention Center, Harrah’s, Imperial Palace/Flamingo, Bally’s, and MGM Grand. From any of these stops you can get ...Read More
