Kyoto is the small Asian specialty restaurant aboard Crystal Harmony. The decor is simple--mostly black and white. Japanese screens divide the areas into seatings mainly for twos and fours and many along the window. White napped tables are set with a black marble charger and a single orchid sprig. Wines and water are served in Reidel glasses and beer in beautiful slim glasses. Reservations must be made in advance and the popular times fill quickly - Although Crystal does not add a surcharge for this alternative dining venue, they do suggest a $6 per-person gratuity (price stated above is included in the cruise price). The service is attentive and professional without being stuffy. Yo...Read More

You won't find pool games or horse races on this cruise line - even bingo was cancelled due to lack of interest. Activities appeal to the intellect, and Crystal offers a diversity of classes, mostly complimentary. In the computer lab we worked on Word, Excel, enhanced digital photos, point-and-click, and created a web page - great accomplishments for anyone with not too great a knowledge of computers. Yamaha set up 18 digital keyboards and taught introductory classes for 2 days. On the last day, one student won a keyboard - nice incentive. We were even sent a beginner piano book from Yamaha once we were home. Berlitz Spanish (since we were cruising Mexico) - A small group met for 2...Read More

1- Make dining reservations for the specialty restaurants early in the week - you may want to return, and there is no extra charge, only a $6.00 gratuity. 2- If there’s something appealing on the menu, order it - it may not reappear during your short cruise. The menu is planned for a 2-week cruise. 3- Don't miss the cocktail parties - mostly held in Palm Court, with dance music. The hors d'oeuvres are fantastic - shrimp, lobster, scallops, and you can order your favorite cocktail if the ones on the waiter's trays don't appeal to you. 4- Corkage fee $15.00 if you bring aboard a special wine. 5- Don't forget complimentary drinks in the casino - this is the only Vegas-owne...Read More

This was one of my favorite spots on the Harmony. It was very relaxing in the daytime, with sunshine beaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The room was filled with comfortable, whitewashed, rattan chairs and sofas with soft flowered cushions. Several live palm trees gave off the feeling that you were in a luxury hotel sunroom in Palm Beach. The room provided a quiet spot to curl up with a book. Later in the afternoon this changed into a tea room—each day tea was served in a different theme, and accompanied by live classical music played by a trio. Waiter service was provided to serve a variety of teas, finger sandwiches, and pastries. However, the best of all was the "Mozart Tea". This was ...Read More
