This is a delightful inn located in Julian that is perfect for a relaxing vacation. The staff and owners are very accommodating and friendly. There are 10 rooms located within the lodge and about 12 cottages located on the premise. Our room was Lodge 6, located on the second floor, and it had its own private balcony.
On the grounds are various areas to relax and enjoy the mountain view or man-made creek. Now and then, you will spot a flock of wild turkeys crossing the grounds. Two marked hiking trails can be taken from the grounds, one leading up to an old Gold Mine and the other up towards a scenic view. We opted to take the Gold Mine route. It's not terribly exciting, but fun nonetheless.
They have evening wine and appetizers, as well as a nice three-course-meal restaurant. It's also a perfect location to visit the town. Julian gets pretty popular on weekends, so it's nice to know you can just walk into town.
