Myrtle Beach

A March 2004 trip to Myrtle Beach by NoPlaceLikeHome

Quote: This is a popular beach destination for North Carolina and South Carolina residents. Find a hotel with a lazy river - most have one.

Ocean Creek has very nice condominium style accommodations. They are great for a family. Our unit slept the five of us very comfortably. There was a full kitchen which helped with meals. There was a nice living room with a sleeper sofa. There was a screened porch with a table and chairs. And there was one bedroom with a king size bed.
In the complex there is an indoor pool and whirlpool were nice too. It was a long walk to the beach, though. In peak times, they have a tram to take people back and forth, but we were there in the fall, so there was no tram.

Best Things Nearby:Right on the beach, but you have to go through the entrance at the street to get on the beach... wear shoes to walk on the pebbly pavement.Best Things About the Resort:Nice oceanfront locationResort Experience:This high-rise hotel/time share has an indoor pool and hot tub during the winter. The glass walls come down for the summer so one can enjoy the warm summer air and ocean breezes. The rooms are spacious and comfortable apartments. All the rooms are oceanfront with a nice size balcony to sit outside and watch the ocean. I particularly enjoyed watching the activity on the beach as people walk by and birds swoop down to fish. Or you can wa...Read More

Damon's Grill

Damon's is an extraordinary restaurant with a very beautiful setting, because it's right on the beach, it's perfect for a beautiful waterfront dining experience! This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach. The ambience here is just great! When the weather is warmer, sitting outside is the best choice! Your table will be right next to the scenic Atlantic Ocean! This is the only restaurant in Myrtle Beach that offers this dining fabulous experience. I don't know why more beach town restaurant shouldn't be this way. It is so relaxing to listen to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore while enjoying a great meal. The atmosphere is truly wonderful. The only thing between you and th...Read More

Barefoot Landing

Attraction

Quote:
Barefoot Landing is an upscale shopping complex that has a rather nice relaxing atmosphere. It has a rustic, nautical decor which makes it nice to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere even if you are not there to shop. The walkways are made of wood to look like a pier, so it gives that beachy feeling as you listen to the wood creak with each footstep. There are also many unique but expensive shops to see if you like shopping, browsing, or window shopping. The window shopping and browsing are free, of course, and with most of the prices here, that is what we did! Most of the shops offer unique items at a price to match. Many of the shops had a beachy theme with rustic nautically decor...Read More

Myrtle Beach Factory Outlet Stores

Attraction | "Tanger Outlet"

Quote:
The place is deserted, with not many stores. It's mostly empty, dark stores, which makes it kind of scary, spooky, and sad. It used to be a nice mall. You won't spend much here because there's nothing to buy!

This is an outlet mall worth going to, especially if you need to buy something. I particularly enjoyed the Croscill Outlet, which is cheaper than department stores. Thre are lots of shops to visit. There is also a food court. We had lunch there one day, and it had plenty of space.
