Hilo, Hawaii Kilauea Volcano

Overview

Quote:
Viewing through a "skylight" opening into bright orange magma.

Quick Tips:

Do yourself a treat and view the volcano by heliocopter. I also drove to the park but many of the most active areas are too far to walk and down right dangerous.

Best Way To Get Around:

Copter and walking.

This ain''t the Ritz but I liked it. The price was right and it was on the water and close to attractions. The Liliuokalani Gardens (japanese style) were right next door and the on site restaurant featured hula dancers. The mother and daughter were beautiful and precious respectively.

The tour lasts for about an hour and includes close encounters with the volcano. You don't land but you are definitely close and able to see flow through skylights and flowing directly into the sea during activi...Read More
