Sandusky, Ohio is a wonderful place on Lake Erie and home to the best amusement park in the United States. If you ride roller coasters, this is the town for you. Take a ride on the roller coaster.

We stayed here because we could get our entire family in a children’s suite. The hotel was okay and in a good location. It has an indoor pool, and the desk staff was friendly. We did have some problems with our maid leaving our door standing open one day. I do have to say that the staff made the incident right be giving us a large credit for our troubles. Keep in mind if you go to Sandusky that they have the world’s number one roller coaster park but very few hotels to choose from, so the prices are high on the weekends and holidays. I think the price is well worth the trip.

Best Things Nearby:
Cedar Point was nearby.

Best Things About the Resort:
There was a nice but small pool.

Resort Experience:
This is a family-oriented campground with campers, tent sites, and even a few cabins to rent. We stayed in the tent and had a horrible experience. We had a group of 20-somethings staying next to us from Detroit, and all they did was play loud, filthy rap music, drink, and cuss out loud. We had to have the sheriff come and threaten them in order to get any sleep. The campground itself has a pool, but it is right next to the highway, so it is pretty loud.

I would suggest getting a hotel – you’re too tired to camp after a day at the park anyway.

Restaurant | "TGI Fridays"

I had the worst restaurant experience of my life here. The kids that work in there treat everyone like they are intruding on their time. The prices are outrageous and there is no service to even rate. This is owned by Cedar Point, and they need to correct it or close it.

Cedar Point is the king of all amusement parks. If you play roller coaster tycoon, this is the park for you. There is not a lot of money wasted on theme; the only theme is rides everywhere!!!! There are 16 roller coasters of every type. One even goes 420 feet into the air! Then the Millennium Force goes just over 300 feet. If you don’t like coasters, there are rides everywhere for you too. My favorite is the Chaos.

If you live near a Cedar Fair Property, like Worlds of Fun or Knotts Berry Farm in California, then get a season passport there. First, you can use it at Cedar Point - and it’s cheaper than 2 days admission.
