Thanksgiving at the beach

A November 2004 trip to Belleair by rlathom

Fine time in Florida for Thanksgiving at the beach

  • 2 reviews
The staff put on a sumptuous Thanksgiving buffet for a very small fee ( each). The on-site recreation director is knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The resort is located in a private community of upscale homes and condos. Only one other business, a small resort motel, is in town, so things are quiet, and the beach is very lightly used. You will have it mostly to yourself. This is the place if you just want to relax and enjoy the beach and the sun. Swimming in the gulf, though, is not recommended because of stinging rays.

Quick Tips:

Lots to see in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area

Best Way To Get Around:

Must have a car
Best Things Nearby:
Lots of beaches

Best Things About the Resort:
Friendly staff and on-site activities director

Resort Experience:
This looks like a converted motel. However, though units are small, they are well-appointed, and the kitchen has everything you need but a counter. The balcony is small but useable and has partial view of the Gulf (some units do not have balcony). The staff put on a sumptuous Thanksgiving buffet for a very small fee ($6 each). The on-site recreation director is knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The resort is relatively small, so activity groups are small and cosy. The resort is located in a private community of upscale homes and condos. Only one other business, a small resort motel, is in town, so things are quiet, and the beach is very lightly used. You will have it mostly to yourself. The resort provides beach chaise lounges, but no towels. The pool is quite small but well-heated.
