Key West Getaway

As you drive up to the entrance of the Sheraton Suites, you are reminded that you are in the tropics. The exterior of the hotel has that beach house feeling. The interior and services left little to be desired.

The soft tropical colors of the hotel were appropriate for the setting. We were paying for an ocean view but wound up with an obstructed pool view. The room did have some missing paint and things that you would expect at a low-rated hotel chain.

The hotel's pool area is nice. The cascading waterfall is a nice touch to the hotel. However, whether you were at the front desk or at the restaurants, the service was not what you would expect. I would not return to the Sheraton Suites Key West.

Sloppy Joe's is legendary for its Sloppy Joe Burger. This restaurant is an institution in Key West. This must-see establishment offers the usual Key West fare and some healthy options. From shrimp to a portobello wrap, it's all here!

Sloopy Joe's also offers live entertainment. You can enjoy your meal while taking in musicians playing some of your favorites to some of their original music onstage.

If you are ever in Key West, you have to experience this restaurant. It was a favorite of Ernest Hemingway, and its laid-back vibe makes it a favorite of mine as well.

Dining at this establishment was my favorite part of being in Key West. The ambience, the service, and the food were spectacular. Working in the hospitality industry, I am very picky about service and this restaurant did not disappoint. The sea bass was probably the best I have ever had. The award-winning bread pudding was phenomenal. It was my favorite evening in Key West. The Grand certainly lives up to its name.

While driving around Duval Street searching for breakfast, we stumbled upon Croissants De France.

The restaurant has great charm. Located in the heart of Key West, it offers diners an inexpensive, yet amazing, morning experience. The menu ranges from their trademark croissants to beignets and crepes. It's like being in France, without having to leave the states.

I opted to have the plain Americano, which consists of scrambled eggs with scallions and a slight hint of paprika on a croissant. This was certainly a great choice for my taste buds. The menu offers so many great items, I chose to do one of my favorite things while on vacation... INDULGE!

After finishing my delicious croissant, I ordered the raspberry beignet. A beignet is the French equivalent of a doughnut; however, there is no hole. It certainly was a great idea! The raspberry beignet was excellent! The raspberries tasted incredibly fresh and made a sweet start to my morning.

Croissants De France, is not your typical breakfast eatery, but while on vacation, it's always a nice treat to try something new. This is a family-friendly restaurant that needs to be enjoyed by everyone who travels to Key West!
