Located directly behind the casino, the Monte Carlo Grand Hotel offers a variety of rooms overlooking the sea or gardens. Although the room décor may not appeal to all, each room is extremely well-appointed with marble bathroom, large TV, minibar, and air-conditioning. There is a choice of restaurants, shops, coffee houses, and a casino to enjoy within the hotel.

Monte Carlo Grand Hotel
12 Avenue des Spelugues Monte Carlo, Monaco

This two-storey museum is housed in the Southern wing of the Prince’s Palace. It contains an extensive collection of artifacts relating to the Emperor Napoleon I, religious souvenirs from Saint Helena, as well as garments belonging to the King of Rome. It also houses an impressive array of exhibits relating to the History of the Principality. This includes the Charter of Independence signed by King Louis XII of France, Monegasque medals, and the Prince’s Guards uniforms. To gain an understanding of the history of Monaco, this museum is a must, and it is well worth getting the taped guided tour, which lasts from approximately 30 minutes.

Museum of Napoleonic Souvenirs
Place du Palais Monte Carlo, Monaco

Built in 1878, this impressive structure was designed around an atrium surrounded by 28 columns in Onyx. Despite steep admission fees, it is well worth a visit to watch people risk millions of dollars in this impressive facility. You get the feeling that James Bond is about to walk in front of you at anytime.

The Salon Ordinaire has European roulette, and trent et quarante is open daily at noon. The Salons Prives opens at 4pm daily and requires gentlemen to wear a jacket and tie for entry. Here it is possible to play baccarat, craps, chemin de fer, and English roulette. An entry fee is not required for the poker machines, which open at 2pm daily.
