Too much riding, and not enough markers

A January 2004 trip to Banff by davidtraill

Quote: This was our first resort visit in Alberta, a few hours after we got off the plane in Calgary. Better conditions were found in Banff/Lake Louise.

Sunshine Village

Skiers have a few options when staying in Banff for skiing the Canadian Rockies. Sunshine is one, and I am glad we went to be able to know we preferred other areas nearby rather than wonder. They got really high marks for the enclosed lifts and the easy ski-rack loading (with assistance!) mounted on the outside of the gondola. The ride to the drop point was inexorable, though, and the confusion at the top as to where the trails went was disappointing. The conditions were favorable, but the resort seemed to lack the "oomph" of what we had hoped for in a grand getaway to the Canadian Rockies. We next visited Lake Louise, and we went back there every day we could before leaving.
