This is a wonderful place for a family. There's lots to do here, plus gorgeous scenery with a relaxed atmosphere. We would come here every year if the kids didn't want to explore other vacation spots! I highly recommend this area.

Woodstone Meadows

Since these places are new, they were very nice inside. We have a family of four, and since we bought in the off-season, we were given a much bigger unit that slept eight. It was actually two four-person units together. The kids loved this, as they had their very own unit to themselves with a half-kitchen(no oven). Our side was the bigger of the two, with a full kitchen, master bedroom with a Jacuzzi tub, and dining room table with six chairs. Their side had a smaller table against the wall with two chairs. It was a perfect game table! It was very quiet, as there weren't too many people staying there. They had outdoor grills, so even though we had an oven, we rarely used it, opting to cook our meats on the grill. Our unit was right on a beautiful golf course, and we were told that a large amusement park is going right behind the units within the next 2 years. Just one more thing to do here in the future! Highly recommend.

Best Things Nearby:
You have the caverns nearby, as well as Skyline Drive (beautiful), shopping(Super Wal-Mart is great for getting all your groceries for the week and anything else you forgot), hiking, fishing, skiing, and golfing.

Best Things About the Resort:
It was new, and the scenery is unbeatable. Lots of wildlife, especially deer. You can hunt just on the other side of the mountain(during their seasons). We were offered a larger unit since it was off-season. We loved it.

Resort Experience:
It was very serene and quiet when we were there. It was warm, so we were able to use the outdoor pool the first day there. They have an indoor pool, as well as a rec center with indoor basketball, which we enjoyed. They have a restaurant on-site, as well, and a pizza place that delivers. The only thing we didn't like was how they call you and invite you to a free breakfast to discuss what's happening in the area here, since we are owners. They said it would only take an hour, tops, and offered $100 in "mountain bucks" (coupons you can use here for activities within the resort). It was that dreaded sales pitch! It lasted well into the early afternoon! They say that every time you come there, they will be asking you to do this. It was our first time using our new unit and the last time we accept a free breakfast! Beware!

Also, we didn't care for the on-site stables where we went horseback riding. You must make reservations well in advance (a day or two), and we paid for a full hour (privately owned and not included with other free offerings at resort) and were back just shy of 45 minutes. The horses were so used to this; they just walked sooooooooo slowly. This is good only if it's your first time on a horse. Also, my husband played a round of golf (also must pay extra) and took our 11-year-old son to watch. They will not let children go because of insurance reasons. We thought it was silly and thought they could have had a waiver you could have signed.

All in all, however, we had a great time and will come here as much as possible. It's just too pretty.

Fairways Restaurant and Lounge

Fairways Restaurant was a very nice place to eat, with good food, a nice atmosphere, and a chance to meet people from the resort. It was a little pricey, but when you're on vacation, you have to spend a little money once in a while. We stayed at the resort for a week and went here at least once during our stay. You can save a little money by cooking at the condo the rest of the week.
