A December 2004 trip to Park City by Susie Go Go

This was our first visit to Park City, Utah. A quaint little mining town turned ski town. Park City has an interesting downtown/mainstreet area and is home to the now famous Sundance Film Festival. Interesting shops and restaurants line Main Street.

Park City
Park City in the winter means skiing (or snowboarding)! Our ski experience was great. Lots of snow .

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Pool & hot tub area
Best Things Nearby:
By far, the best thing about this timeshare resort is the fact that the Payday ski lift is right beside the property, super convenient for skiing.

Best Things About the Resort:
The convenience of the Payday ski lift, the convenience of free on-site ski storage, the convenience of restaurants and shops within walking distance, and the fact that i is a relatively new property in good condition are the best things.

Resort Experience:
We stayed at this property with a timeshare exchange through Interval International. We flew into the Salt Lake City airport, rented a car, and drove approximately 35 miles to the resort. The property looks relatively new and is in great condition.

Our room was a one-bedroom efficiency unit, meaning it wasn't super spacious, but there was plenty of room to accommodate me and my husband. There was a king-size bed and a sleeper sofa. There was a kitchenette complete with mini-fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. In the kitchenette area, there is a small table and chair set.

As previously mentioned, convenience is key for the Marriott Mountainside. The Payday ski lift is right by the outdoor pool and hot tub area. It is so convenient to ski down the mountain, pop off your skis, walk into the property, and store your skis at the free on-site ski storage. There is a nice heated pool and hot tub area, which was a popular activity on most days. Service was very good. There was a friendly front desk staff. There was also a friendly gentleman at the concierge desk in the lobby that provided area information and restaurant suggestions.

There is a nice modern workout room adjacent to the ski storage area. The cozy and roomy owner’s lounge is a good place to hang out and play pool, etc. Parking is inside a parking garage underneath the property, which means no scraping off ice or snow when ready to take a drive.

ChimayoBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

Chimayo is located on Park City's quaint Main Street. We entered and were warmly greeted by the staff at the hostess area. The atmosphere was warm and cozy - lots of wood and stone. Dim lighting and lots of hanging punched tin candleholders/lanterns. The place almost glowed. It's Southwestern cuisine, beautifully prepared and presented. I had the filet mignon with mole. It came with a relleno of tomato and corn fritters on the side. Everything was cooked to perfection and a unique and tasty combination of flavors. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive.

Main Street Pizza & NoodleBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Main Street Pizza & Noodle"

From the name of this pizza joint, it's obvious where it's located - on Park City's quaint Main Street. The pizza was good and the salads fresh. The salad dressing tasted homemade. Service was friendly. Everything was good, but it was nothing out of the ordinary.

Taste of SaigonBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

One day of our Park City vacation we decided to take a break from skiing. We chose to spend the day walking up and down Park City's main street. As the noon hour was approaching, I asked a couple of merchants for restaurant suggestions for lunch. Taste of Saigon was mentioned more than any other restaurant.

As I was standing at the entrance of the restaurant reading the menu, a lady exiting the restaurant stopped and told me that the food was wonderful and the service even better. She mentioned how friendly the owners were. She was right. We were greeted upon entering by a Vietnamese lady who was friendly and helpful in explaining the cuisine. I don't remember the name of the dish that I had, but it was curry-based and absolutely delicious.

NativoBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Shopping at Nativo"

Of all the shops lining Park City's Main Street, Nativo was my favorite. This two-story shop features unique and trendy clothing, jewelry, and bath and body items on its ground floor. A walk downstairs has you surrounded by stylish home-decor items.
