Christmas time in Vienna

The Altstadt Vienna is a beautiful European hotel, and it proved to be a great base for our exploration of Vienna. It's located in the charming Spittelburg area and is close to the Volkstheater metro station. It's also right at the edge of the museum area of the city, so most sites are within easy walking distance. The hotel itself was wonderful. We arrived late in the evening, but fortunately, the hotel's reception is open 24 hours. The friendly receptionist gave us a room upgrade to a three-room suite, which was perfect. The hotel rooms are a little sparsely furnished, but otherwise, they are an excellent value for Vienna. And the included continental breakfast buffet gave us a great start to each morning. Overall, the Altstadt was a wonderful hotel at a good price.
