There were only a few other people there when we were, but the guest book revealed a varied and world-wide clientele. The non-English-speaking workers there were accommodating, and the restaurant was good for the two breakfasts we had there. There are other funky restaurants on the beach where we had dinner, one serving a fantastic shrimp pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven. The beach is in a cove and fairly good-sized.
The pounding waves varied in intensity day to day. Only a few people were on the beach at a time. As far as the cabanas, they were tidy, supplied with candles in case the generator quit (I didn't notice that it ever did), and had an upstairs that my 10-year-old took over; he was in heaven under his mosquito net. The bathrooms showed some use, but we didn't care. It’s still a perfect place to drop out, if you can entertain yourself and don't want the high-rise hotel scene.
