Fres-Know

Overview

Quote:
Welcome to Fresno. Fresno is an under-rated spot in the middle of California that deserves some of its unexciting rep. Probably the most telling thing about Fresno is that it is near (within a three-hour drive) a lot of really great places to be. Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks are a two-hour drive, the central coast is two and a half, and fun recreational lakes such as Bass and Millerton are even closer. Fresno is in the middle of the flat Central Valley and does not enjoy a prominent natural feature (i.e. a body of water, a river, or a natural land elevation) that seem to make the great cities great. Its sprawling layout and lack of a downtown entertainment district diminishe...Read More

In-n-Out Burger

Restaurant

Quote:
New to California? Try the California classic burger joint. This family-owned burger mecca is a staple in So-Cal and a good bet for a good, fresh burger, fries, and a shake.

Sam's Italian Deli & Market

Restaurant | "Sams Deli & Italian Market"

Quote:
A very good deli off the beaten path. Tasty deli trays and sandwiches are definite treats. Many authentic Italian specialty items. Corner of 1st and Clinton.

Geno's Sandwiches & Salads

Restaurant | "Geno's Sandwiches & Salads"

The delectable bread roll is the key to every sandwich at this lunch-only establishment. They offer a wide array of toppings that are consistently tasty and fresh (adding avocado is my personal recommendation). If you need a break from Subway and Quiznos, try this place.

Javier’s

Restaurant

Quote:
This restaurant serves delicious Mexican cuisine without sapping your wallet. The occasional long wait demonstrates this restaurant’s popularity. Lunch and dinner specials are a safe bet. It may not be the healthiest food, but what can you say, it’s good.

World Sports Cafe

Restaurant

Quote:
This is the best place to enjoy a beer and a meal while catching a game. It has a quality feel and offers pleasing menu items. This place is not a hole-in-the-wall, and it is in a trendy shopping area that draws crowds on the weekends. Think of a slightly toned-down ESPN-Zone with better food.

Edwards Cinemas

Attraction

Quote:
This is probably the most popular entertainment alternative in town. It offers top movies in excellent theaters with stadium seating and is a nice place to go on a foggy day in the winter or 105°F day in the summer. Watch out for crowds - show up early.
